From Diplomat to Chef: A Delicious Journey

Who knew a career in diplomacy would lead me to the kitchen? After 16 years of navigating the complexities of international relations, I decided it was time to trade in the suit and tie for an apron and a spatula. Turns out, brokering peace treaties is great, but making people fall in love with Vietnamese food? Even better.

My passion for Vietnamese cuisine runs deep—it’s the soul of our culture, a symphony of flavors, and a love language all rolled into one (or wrapped in a fresh rice paper roll). Growing up, food was more than just a meal; it was how we celebrated, connected, and told stories.

When I moved to Canberra, I realized something was missing—a taste of home that felt authentic, comforting, and downright delicious. So, I took the plunge and became a chef, pouring my heart (and a little fish sauce) into every dish.

Now, I bring the same dedication I once had for diplomacy to the art of cooking. Whether it’s a steaming bowl of pho or a crispy banh mi, my mission is simple: to share the vibrant, irresistible flavors of Vietnam with my Canberra community. Because while I may no longer be representing my country in boardrooms, I’m proud to represent it one plate at a time.

Who says you can’t turn treaties into tasty treats?
